Hi! I am Kati Cranmer. I'm a therapist specializing in individual, couples and family therapy and I maintain a private practice in Washington, MO. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor, a Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor, and I am certified in EMDR and in the process of becoming a consultant for EMDR certification. I love to connect with people of all ages and using EMDR, play, and expressive therapies to help clients work through issues related to depression, anxiety, trauma, and attachment wounds.
I also love utilizing coaching services around how to improve healthy communication, setting and achieving goals, coaching around parenting issues, and how to engage in a healthier lifestyle. I find that after I have worked with clients on how to resolve the trauma or other mental health issue, the work then needs to develop into how to put healthier lifestyle practices in the place of what was removed.
I am a wife and a mom of 3 kiddos. My husband recently left his career as a teacher to help manage my business, homeschool our children, and manage our homestead. We have a hobby farm where we raise goats, chickens, pigs, turkeys, ducks, and we try to grow as much of our own food as we can. I absolutely love sushi and other yummy foods from around the world. My favorite hobbies are hiking, canoeing, camping, and reading, and preferably doing all these activities with my family and friends around me. I am obsessed with the Harry Potter Series and listen to the Audible recordings once a year. My favorite drinks are hot coffee and hot tea. You can also absolutely get me on a deep dive talking about how to heal our bodies and minds using food and I often incorporate learning about it to relation of our gut health to our mental health and how we cannot heal one without healing both. I love to laugh and play, but I also take opportunities to present truth in loving and compassionate ways.
I sincerely love my job, which is honestly more than a "job" to me. I get the chance to enter into your most personal spaces, both the pretty and the hard to look at, and I find that to be a sacred honor. I take my job very seriously and am always investing in ways to make the healing journey as comfortable and effective as possible. While I don't shy from hard topics and conversations, I work very hard to make the environment and the relationship we have as therapeutic as possible along the way. That's why I believe in having comfortable spaces and creature comforts in our healing space.
