Hi, I’m Elyssa Peters.
I’m blessed to be married to my husband of 26 years and to have three amazing children. God has shaped me to be gentle, caring, patient, honest, and full of compassion. I’m a good listener and a creative problem solver, and I love walking alongside others as they navigate life’s challenges.
Some of my personal joys include cooking, reading, listening to music, watching musicals and romcoms, and decorating our home for different seasons and holidays. I also enjoy walking, playing pickleball, and yes—dark chocolate is definitely a favorite! And I love to laugh; I believe laughter is truly one of God’s best gifts.
I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Missouri, St. Louis, and a Master’s Degree in Educational Counseling (K-12) from Missouri Baptist University. I have over 25 years of experience teaching in both private and public schools, and I’ve had the privilege of homeschooling all of our children at some point.
I am currently a PLPC and fully trained in EMDR therapy, offering trauma-informed, faith-based counseling to individuals, couples, and families. One of my greatest joys in counseling is incorporating art and play into the therapy process, helping clients express their emotions, explore their thoughts, and experience healing in creative and engaging ways.
Over the years, I’ve been blessed to serve in a variety of ministry opportunities: helping write children’s ministry curriculum, teaching and writing Bible studies, leading small groups, and speaking at moms’ groups and women’s conferences. These experiences have deepened my love for helping others find hope, healing, and freedom in Christ.
Through both my education and personal experiences, God has taught me the miraculous power of forgiveness. I am passionate about guiding others to the comfort, peace, and transformation that comes through the blood of Jesus. I believe therapy is a powerful resource God gives us to access His healing, and I love helping clients become aware of their thoughts and beliefs, take them captive, and align them with God’s truth—a process that can profoundly impact emotions and behavior.
If you’re seeking compassionate, Christ-centered counseling, I would be honored to walk alongside you on your journey toward healing, growth, and renewed hope.
