About Elyssa Peters

Hi I’m Elyssa Peters.  I’m married to my husband of 26 years, and have been blessed with 3 amazing kids. God has made me gentle, caring, patient, and understanding, honest, kind, and full of compassion. He’s made me a great listener and a creative problem solver.  Some of my interests are cooking, reading, music and musicals, watching romcoms, and decorating our home for different seasons and holidays. I enjoy walking and playing pickleball. I love laughing (the BEST medicine). And dark chocolate; I really like dark chocolate! 

I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Missouri, St Louis and a Masters Degree in Educational Counseling (K-12) from Missouri Baptist University.  I have taught for over 25 years in Private and Public School and have homeschooled all of our children at some point.  I am currently a PLPC and am fully trained in EMDR. I am thankful for the many service opportunities I’ve had including helping to write some Children’s Ministry curriculum, teaching and writing Bible studies, and leading small groups, as well as speaking at moms groups and women’s conferences. 

Through both my education and personal  experiences, God has taught me the miraculous power of forgiveness and has given me the desire to help lead others to the comfort, peace, healing, and freedom that God offers us by the Blood of Jesus. I believe that therapy is a resource God gives us through which we can access these things. 

In addition, I understand and have experienced first-hand the power of being aware of our thoughts and beliefs, taking our thoughts “captive”, and changing them to line up with what God says about us. I absolutely love how God uses that to bring a positive affect on our emotions and behavior!
