Christian EMDR Therapy in Washington, Missouri

Faith-Forward, Trauma-Informed Care for Healing Trauma and Attachment Wounds

Trauma can shape how we see ourselves, relate to others, and experience God. Even when painful experiences are in the past, their effects can remain—showing up as anxiety, emotional overwhelm, relational struggles, or a persistent sense of disconnection.

At Full Bloom Counseling, we provide Christian EMDR therapy and trauma counseling that addresses both the emotional and spiritual impact of trauma. Grounded in Biblical truth and supported by evidence-based therapeutic practices, our work focuses on restoring connection—within yourself, in relationships, and with God.

What Is EMDR Therapy?

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a research-backed therapy designed to help the brain process and heal from traumatic or distressing experiences. Trauma can become “stuck” in the nervous system, keeping the body and mind in a constant state of threat even when danger has passed.

EMDR therapy helps the brain reprocess these memories so they no longer carry the same emotional or physical intensity. Over time, clients often experience reduced anxiety, increased emotional regulation, and a greater sense of safety and clarity.

Christian EMDR Therapy: Integrating Faith and Evidence-Based Care

As a Certified EMDR Therapist, we are deeply committed to providing clinically excellent care while honoring your faith. EMDR therapy aligns naturally with a Christian understanding of healing—allowing God’s truth to replace fear, shame, and false beliefs rooted in trauma.

Clients are invited, but never pressured, to integrate prayer, Scripture, and spiritual reflection into the EMDR process. We believe transparency and informed consent matter, and we respect each client’s comfort level and beliefs throughout counseling.

Trauma and Attachment Wounds We Treat

Trauma is not limited to a single event. It can also develop through chronic stress, relational pain, or early attachment wounds. EMDR therapy and trauma counseling can be helpful for individuals experiencing:

  • Childhood trauma or neglect
  • Attachment wounds and relational trauma
  • Anxiety, panic, or chronic worry
  • PTSD and complex trauma
  • Grief and loss
  • Medical or birth trauma
  • Spiritual trauma or faith-related distress
  • Traumatic experiences impacting marriage or family relationships

Our trauma counseling addresses how experiences live in the body, mind, and spirit, supporting whole-person healing.
